“True” cinnamon – as the pucker stuff is know, comes from Sri Lanka & is heady with sweet & fragrant provocative notes. A liberal dusting of this lovely mellow spice gives our Truffles an exotic finish.

COFFEE – Dusted with a shot of freshly ground Arabica coffee beans
We take 100% Arabica Coffee beans, grind them finely – then hit our Truffles with a generous shot to give them a Coffee coating, which blends wonderfully with the full flavour profile of our raw Cacao.
GINGER – Dusted with a shot of Ginger
This stimulating, warming & aromatic spice pairs amazingly well with the rich dark intensity of raw Cacao. Ginger is very uplifting, when we combine it with our raw Truffles the result can be quite euphoric!

It is loaded with nutrients and bioactive compounds that have powerful benefits for your body and brain.
Did you Know….During the prohibition, alcohol was banned but people got buzzed any way they could. One way was through a highly alcoholic liquid called Jamaica Ginger or “Jake” this got round the ban by being sold as medicine. Unfortunately there was a nasty additive in the stuff that caused paralysis in the leg muscles. Two blues musicians noticed this – Ishman Bracey who wrote – Jake Liquor Blues & Tommy Johnson who wrote – Alcohol & Jake blues.

Maca has a beautiful maple & Butterscotch flavour & marries well with raw Cacao
Maca powder is versatile and exceptionally nutrient-dense. Made from the root of the Peruvian maca, which has been cultivated in Peru for thousands of years.
Maca powder is prepared by drying this special root at low temperatures (in order to preserve an optimal number of its naturally occurring nutrients) and then grinding into a fine powder.
Maca powder contains a wealth of beneficial nutrients, including vitamins (B1, B2, C& E), minerals, complex alkaloids, fatty acids and sterols.
In fact, maca powder is rich in both vitamin C and calcium.
UMAMI – Dusted with a shot of Umami. The fifth taste – moorishly savoury!
Umami – The Fifth Taste A loan word from the Japanese “umami” delicious & “Mi” taste.
The “Fifth Taste” after salty, sweet, sour & bitter. Umami is why Marmite is so moreish.
We give our Truffles a really healthy “Umami” vibe, by dusting them in ultra healthy Nutritional Yeast – yum! What is nutritional yeast?….only one of the tastiest health promoting foods there is. Chocolate alchemy – Umyummi!
Foods like pizza, spag bol, gravey, soy sauce, & mushrooms are very “umami” in nature, tastes, that really spark are taste buds & make us want to tuck in.
Nutritional yeast is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. In fact, it’s one of the best non-animal sources of folic acid and vitamin B-12. The yellow color of the flakes is a result of their large amount of vitamin B. Just ½ a tbsp, fulfills your entire daily vitamin B needs. In addition to B-12, nutritional yeast is high in 15 different minerals and 18 amino acids. Talk about a super food!
The yeast itself is grown on beets and dehydrated, so don’t let the word “yeast” put you off. Think of it as the kind of yeast your body will love! Um Yummy!
